Wintergreen Anyone?

Sophie smelled like gum and it's no wonder. It was stuck to her elbows and paws and looked like she had gotten tangled up in it. I have no idea how! She was rubbing on the carpet and looking at me like . . Mommy get it off!

So what is the solution to gum on a dog? Well, you can use any type of vegetable oil (canola in our case) and massage it into the gum, let it sit a little and then gently pull out the gum. You can also use peanut butter, which Sophie found particularily enjoyable. This worked great and she licking her elbow for hours :).

Now, if I had only known about these remedies when my aussie Guinness stepped on a glue trap a couple years back. Another story . . .
